What Are CBD Dog Treats + Joint Mobility Care?

Pet Hemp Company’s signature CBD treats for dogs are specially formulated to target specific issues. We have calming treats, wellness treats, and, of course, treats to support your dog’s joints. Our joint and mobility care treats combine CBD with natural, therapeutic ingredients to soothe aches that limit your dog’s physical abilities.

Wellness is our top priority, but our products go above and beyond that. Our CBD treats are a delicious snack your dog will love. They are “treats,” after all! The flavor of yummy pumpkin spice mingling with cinnamon is too much for any dog to resist. One taste is sure to put them in a great mood even before the CBD kicks in!

CBD Soft Chews

Pet Hemp Company’s CBD mobility treats have a crispy, crunchy texture. They’re a big hit with most dogs, but they aren’t for everyone. Aging dogs and dogs with dental problems can have a hard time trying to chew a crunchy treat.

Here at Pet Hemp Company, we want every dog to live their best life, no matter who they are. That’s why we created our special CBD soft chews. They have a tender texture that’s gentle on sensitive teeth. For dogs with joint stiffness, try our Repair Soft Chews. They have the same active ingredients as our crunchy mobility treats, plus a delicious apple and pumpkin flavor.

What Are the Benefits of CBD For Dogs?

CBD can support many of the body’s most essential functions. We’ll explain why this is in a moment. In short, CBD can benefit your dog in countless ways, including:

  • Relieving aches and muscle tension
  • Soothing skin irritation
  • Calming nervous dogs
  • Promoting better sleep
  • Improving appetite and digestive health

There are many CBD products available for pets, including capsules, shampoo, and CBD oil for dogs. Check out our other products and learn about their benefits so you can get exactly what your furry friend needs.

How Do CBD Dog Treats For Joints Work?

To understand how CBD works, you need to understand the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Every mammal, including you and your dog, has an ECS made up of cannabinoid receptors spread throughout the body. The ECS plays an important role in regulating some of the body’s most essential processes, including:

  • Immune response
  • Mood
  • Memory
  • Sleep
  • Digestion

Your dog needs a well-balanced ECS to support joint health and overall wellbeing. CBD interacts with the receptors in the endocannabinoid system to boost its vital functions.

What’s Inside Pet Hemp Company’s CBD Dog Treats for Joint Mobility?

Let’s break down the therapeutic ingredients that make Pet Hemp Company’s treats so special. Heads up, there’s going to be some serious science coming your way, but don’t worry. We’re here to demystify everything!

CBD Extract

It should come as no surprise that the primary active ingredient in our CBD dog treats is CBD (cannabidiol). We’ve already explained what CBD can do and how it works, but now it’s time to talk about what CBD is.

CBD is a naturally-occurring chemical compound found in hemp plants. Hemp is a type of cannabis plant, which may raise some red flags in your mind. When you hear cannabis, you might think first of marijuana, but hemp is a different deal.

Marijuana contains a lot of THC, the intoxicating chemical that gets people high. Hemp is a different form of cannabis, with a high level of CBD but an extremely small amount of THC. By federal law, hemp plants must have less than 0.3% CBD.

We at Pet Hemp Company take it one step further. We make our pet products with broad spectrum CBD. “Broad spectrum” means that all traces of THC have been removed from the product. This ensures that there is little-to-no chance of your dog getting high from our treats.

Turmeric

For thousands of years, people have used turmeric to deal with joint pain and other aches. Turmeric contains a natural chemical compound called curcuminResearch has indicated that curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties.

It’s not a good idea to give your dog raw turmeric straight off the spice rack. Pets will have a difficult time digesting it and maximizing its benefits. By blending and baking turmeric into our CBD dog treats, we make it easy for dogs to digest.

Boswellia

You may know Boswellia better by its colloquial name – frankincense. It’s made from the crystallized resin of Boswellia trees. Research has shown that it too can soothe joint inflammation.

Ready for us to hit you with some science? Here it goes. Boswellia contains a natural chemical compound called acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid. This acid is the most potent inhibitor of an enzyme called 5-lipoxygenase. 5-lipoxygenase plays a major role in causing inflammation. By inhibiting the production of this enzyme, Boswellia can soothe persistent aches.

Hemp Seed Powder

CBD comes from the leaves and flowers of hemp, but this plant has so much more to offer. Hemp seeds are a powerful superfood, rich in vitamins, minerals, and fibers. They are an incredible source of plant-based protein for your dog, and they include a wealth of omega 3 fatty acids.

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, discovered that omega 3 fatty acids inhibit the production of an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX). COX is another major contributor to inflammation. Omega 3 reduces COX to relieve swelling. In this regard, it is quite similar to aspirin. Aspirin is toxic to dogs, so hemp seed omegas are a great substitute.

How to Use CBD Dog Treats for Joints & Mobility

To support your dog in the long term, give them at least one CBD dog treat for joints every day. Better yet, give them some CBD every 8-12 hours or so for round-the-clock relief. These are general guidelines. As we previously mentioned, dosing varies based on your dog’s weight and needs, so check out our dosage chart for the most accurate recommendation.

How Long Does It Take for Mobility Chews to Work?

It typically takes 45 minutes to an hour for the effects of CBD treats to kick in. It’s no different from the way humans react to CBD edibles. If you have ever tried one yourself, you are very familiar with the waiting period. The experience is no different for dogs.

How can you tell when the CBD treats are working? Watch your dog’s behavior. These treats specifically target joint concerns and mobility issues, so keep an eye on your dog’s movements. You should see their stiffness go away and their motions become smoother.

How Long Do the Effects Last?

When your dog takes CBD in edible form, the effects typically last from 4 to 8 hours. That’s why we recommend giving your dog another treat after about 8 hours. As you see, CBD treats take a while to kick in, but the long-lasting relief is well worth the wait.

Additional Benefits

These CBD treats are great for soothing your dog’s aching joints and promoting their mobility, but they do so much more as well! CBD offers an amazingly wide array of benefits because the ECS affects so many physical and mental wellness aspects. In addition to offering physical relief, CBD treats can:

  • Calm nervousness
  • Reduce hyperactivity
  • Improve mood
  • Promote restful sleep
